Webinar on medical image-based Engineering on Anatomy: introduction to the tools and methods and application in biomechanics research.

Abstract/Workshop Description:
The topics of patient-specific care and medical research on medical images of actual patients becomes increasingly popular and accessible thanks to the development of medical-imaging and medical software technologies. This workshop aims at introducing the concepts of Engineering on Anatomy and applying them to research in the field of biomechanics.
An introduction to the Materialise Mimics Innovation Suite will be proposed and will cover the importation of medical images, the segmentation of these images to create a  patient-specific 3D anatomical model and, finally, the preparation of that anatomical model for export and use in a Finite Element Analysis solver, including the creation of volume elements and assignment of mechanical properties.
